Surgery is considered a last resort. The pain is unbelievably strong in my case. BTW, diuretics do not help the issue of edema due to lymphedema. I suffer greatly every day and cannot express how horrible quality of life is.

This is wayyyyy more difficult than it has to be. If it isn’t put on correctly it won’t work correctly. They need to offer multiple size zip up garments WITHOUT the Velcro. You simply slide them on, zip it up and go. All this Velcro crap is overwhelming.

All treatment for lipedema is So expensive and medical aids do not cover any which does not make sense at all . How are people going to recover or be in a healthier state if medical we pay for does not help!

Garments are expensive but they really help, difficult to initially put on but one gets used to it . Once on they feel so comfortable and easy to move around.

Here’s a big reason this hasn’t had more attention, doctors are not taught anything about this. The doctor I brought this up to last year told me I was talking about hyperlipidemia. He didn’t even pause for one second to ask me what it was I was referring to. That was followed by yet another short lecture about exercise what to eat.

I wish they would upload updated instruuctional videos. A trainer came to show me how to use the lower body system, but of couse it was brand new to me so I didn't know what questions to ask. He told me he wouldn't be coming back again, but that there were instructional videos and he showed me the QR codes in the 'get started' leaflet so I could access them on my phone. . So the next day (yesterday) when I used the system for the first time by myself questions arose and I went to the UA-cam instructional videos as was told. At first I was confused and thought I was watching the wrongful videos. But then I realized that the visits ranged from 3 to 8 years old, and the equipment and garments were not the same as mine because they were outdated. So my questions weren't answered. Questions like, in the videos the leg garments overlap the trunk garment, so why do I have a 3" gap between them at the top of my legs? And that brought me to my next question: My legs and waist had been measured by a Tactile Medical rep, length and circumference so I assumed they would be custom fitted. But on the papers that came with it, it is marked size Medium. Is that why there is a gap at the top of my legs that shouldn't be there? I had high hopes for this system to help my edema... but now I'm frustrated and discouraged

I only recently found out about lipedema. Was certain my symptoms were related to menopause (and indeed they were triggered by it) but I realize now that just about every complaint I have is related to lipedema. I stayed slender in younger years with high levels of daily exercise and a very Spartan diet (have always been somewhat hyperactive), but after a knee injury and Covid I ballooned from size 12 pants to size 18 in 10 years, Couldn't figure out why I couldn't control my weight on a 1,000-calorie-a-day diet. Have found it puzzling that my legs were cool to the touch when covered up in bed, why I have spider veins and lumpy fat deposits on my legs, why I have constipation and body wide pain. Now I know. It's not likely to get better, but at least I know know what I'm dealing with. The medical profession needs to know more about this. I've just been told I need to lose weight the past few years, but nobody recognized my very visible symptoms, even while checking pulses in my ankles.

I have been applying Tactile Medical’s garment treatment for more than a year but I am still having circulation problems with severe pains in both legs and I also keep suffering from lenf edema. Even my vein surgery did not help me much. The Vein Institute and Baptist Medical Hospital in the United States told me that the surgery I went through in Turkey had been an outmoded technique and recently laser surgery is being applied in the United States. Too bad as I still wake up midnight with terrible pains. I have the same circulation problem in my arms and hands. They also keep going swollen especially my left hand.

I have discovered for my lipedema that it's the foods I eat that the fat cells react to for instance if I drink milk the fat cells in my ankles go wild start itching and moving around and swelling if I eat ice cream it reacts only a little if I eat sugary foods it will slow down my weight loss but if I eat low carbs the weight will fall off I went from 240 to 209 it was only slow because I kept going back to milk and ice cream I stopped using sugar and use monkfruit not artificial sweeteners if I could continully eat low card the weigh would fall off like crazy I started to bake my own pies without sugar and cakes and muffins but I was suspicious of the flour but I tried to use low carb flour now I have these cravings for banana splits and cokes those are my vices if I can resist them I am home free.

If it is hormonal could it be caused by hormones in animals we eat? We put huge amounts of hormones into chicken etc. Also many cows 🐮 are milk when pregnant and their bodies are full of hormones- - so their milk has pregnancy hormones for caws 🐄 Or even chemicals in processed food that cause inflammation or maybe even hormonal imbalance? Do any whole food plants base diet ppl have it? I mean someone who eat really clean. I had this issue very early on. My mum used to feed me with processed liver with vanilla sugar when I was a baby. Back then ppl did not breastfeed... and .. yeah ... I hate huge amounts of processed meat as a toddler cos my mother was anorexic and overcompensated her problem on kids. Also she was most probably anorexic when she was pregnant with me. I can sunbathe but my mother is white as wall. Every woman in my family is hypermobil. And we have some deformities in our elbows and knees- even males.

I have lymphedema in my legs and after putting my body through it's own test, I have discovered eliminating all carb foods, that means processed food, foods that contain any sugar including HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP, corn syrup, dextrose, maltodextrose saccharine, even your stevia and other artificial sweeteners.. Read the damn ingredient labels.. You don't want all those man made ingredients going into your body.. I went on a carnivore diet, just meat! and my swelling went down.. As soon as I started eating pizza and ice cream, cookies even pasta, rice and potatoes, the swelling came back with a vengeance! I went back on carnivore diet and the swelling was going down.. Oh and fat does not make you fat.. Carbs do!

I had 2 oncologist ignore my concerns, and I must say my cancer journey was based on their egos, and that lead to a 5 mos wait for my highly recommendee by the 3 pathologist that diagnosed my IDC/TUB, early stage that took me 5 mos to get the surgery and for the best prognosis I'm telling me I wouldn't even need neo or adjuvant chemo nothing to it's spreading little it was just another surgeon said no it wasn't positive or not she also told me after three pathologist and LabCorp confirmed the IDC and to do the recommended lumpectomy to further assist the breast they said no they were wrong I mean it was a joke. They were grossly negligent, with absolutely no apologizes. If I did not know how to read my lab results from my biopsy I would have never been here probably. The coachella valley lacks what it takes to VA physician who can interpret have compassion empathy and by God credibility. They were bullies, and I hope I can save another person by paying it forward 🙏🙏🙏
